United Riggers and Erectors, Inc. recognizes the need to continuously
emphasize safety training. Owners & Construction Managers are aware of the need
for on the job safety, and comply with all government regulations.
URE’s philosophy is that “safety first” is the foundation of any successful construction
company. Implementing and adhering to a strict safety program creates a healthier
and more efficient workforce. These two factors lower our insurance costs which
translates into more competitive rates for our customers.
All of URE’s foremen conduct weekly safety “tailgate meetings” during which a specific
safety topic is discussed prior to beginning work. Some of the specific topics include:
|
- Personal Fall Arrest Systems
- Holes and Floor Openings
- Compressed Gas Cylinders
- Concrete Safety
- Torches
- Tag out/Lock out
|
URE is also a member of the I.M.P.A.C.T. (Ironworker Management
Progressive Action Cooperative Trust) Drug Testing Program. Through this program,
an outside contractor drug tests all Ironworkers, and posts the names of the eligible
employees on a website. All Ironworkers hired by URE must be on this list. This
guarantees that our workforce is drug-free.
|
URE’s Safety Program uses Cal/OSHA regulations as a guideline,
and, in many cases, exceeds the stringent guidelines set by Cal/OSHA. The following
are some items covered in our Safety Program:
|
- First Aid / CPR
- Fall Protection
- Electrical Safety
- Job Hazard Analysis
- Confined Space Entry
- Hazardous Communication
